Bike Week is a celebration and promotion of all that's great about bikes and cycling. Held over a week in June of each year with bike themed events organised by local authorities, community groups and cycling groups throughout Ireland.

From free bike checks, fun cycles, lunchtime city rides, heritage cycles, electric bike races, school cycling events, bike festivals, road races and much more. There’s something for every age and ability. Bike Week are encouraging everyone to take the scenic route and to share it using #MyBikeWeek

Our picks for the week include Dublin City Council presents the Insync Street Velodrome & Viking Pro Series, Thursday 14 to Sat 16 June in Smithfield Square, Dublin 7.

If you're in Clare, The Green Room Surf School and Shop Lahinch are promoting a “Cycle for a Surf” event during bike week 2018. Anyone who travels to their school by bicycle will receive discounted surf lessons or equipment rental and a free bike week branded bell. They will also be able to purchase a reusable cup or water bottle at half price. The Green Room Surf School and Shop are also promoting the fact that you can cycle the part of the West Clare Greenway from Ennistymon to Lahinch in just 10 minutes.

Join Terry Moore, Phoenix Park Deer Ranger, on a special National Bikeweek bike tour in the Phoenix Park, to visit the deer herd within the Phoenix Park, our National Heritage Park. Get to see the young recently born fawns, and learn about the management of the deer and their regular habits. This is a particularly family friendly gentle tour with plenty of time for questions and chats.

The tour starts at 6.30pm sharp, and is free to participants, so please be there before that time, and join us in this special exploration on bike! Meet at Visitor Centre, Phoenix Park.

And in Cleveragh Park, Sligo an introduction to basic mountain biking skills and trail spin. Suitable for ages 12 and over. Bikes and helmets are provided or bring your own.
