The days may be getting longer and slightly warmer, but let's be honest we'll still need a good quality raincoat for the spring summer season. One that tickets all the boxes when it comes to comfort, functionality and style. We've picked our top five to help you on your way.

We love a good bright yellow raincoat. So it's unsurprising that the Helly Hansen Elements Summer Coat caught our eye. With a straightforward and classic design, the Elements Summer Coat has a feminine fit, nicely draping fabric and minimalistic detailing. Available in a variety of bright and muted colourways, this is summer’s statement coat. Love the colour, love the lining. It's available in other colours which you can shop here.

Whilst living in New Zealand we bought Mac Pac Rain Jacket and it served us so well on our travels - Mac Pac was created in New Zealand in the 1970s by Bruce McIntyre. The perfect rainproof layer. Here is the Mac Pac Resolution Rain Jacket V2. This classic longer lined hiking jacket is engineered for performance and comfort when you’re hiking in the harshest weather. A regular fit allows room for layers underneath, and a zippered map pocket inside the main storm flaps keeps the essentials safe and dry.

The elements we love are the hood which offers an adjustable stiffened peak, reinforced shoulders and its durability. Just what you need for the great outdoors.

Rains Raincoats are a firm favourite with the team here at Girl Outdoor Magazine. Why? Well, Rains Raincoats are functional and unisex rain jacket with a casual fit. Inspired by classic rainwear, Jacket is an urban version made from a water-resistant lightweight fabric with a matte and smooth finish. With its casual silhouette, Jacket has classic Rains details as the storm shield and an adjustable hood with a practical cap function. There is an array of colours too so all that's left now is to pick your favourite.

This is last but never least - Craghoppers 250 Jacket. We love the Dark Redwood colourway too. So it looks good but what about the jacket specifications? The smart urban styling makes it a smart choice for the city but its thoroughbred outdoor performance features make it a winning choice in the field. The outer is engineered to do battle with the elements, while inside, the luxurious baffled lining delivers top-notch insulation. A neat zip-off hood provides extra wet-weather coverage. Win, win. Shop Craghoppers' range here.
